► readers' club ... Kids Who Read!

overview - form - map

overview

The readers' club came out of an 8-year-old reader's wish to share her love of reading with other kids.

The group has two parts: elementary-age fluent readers, and early or non-readers. The older kids talk about books they've read, read short passages aloud, play word games, and participate in fun projects and activities ... always related to words or books. The younger kids enjoy a separate read-aloud and activity time in another part of the library.

We meet regularly at the Grapeland Public Library, a wonderful place to spend time with books and friends!

The group is quite informal, with no memberships or dues. We do, however, have a form that includes contact information and the "club rules."

We meet at the Grapeland Public Library in downtown Grapeland. The library is housed in a former Methodist church, complete with stained glass windows and wood floors ... a beautiful place to read and relax!

Grapeland is between Crockett and Palestine in East Texas.
